I was surprised to see one on the road so soon. Sorry for the poor photos, there was a lamp post and a parking meter blocking all the good angles. Just parked on the street in the middle of Wicker Park in Chicago, all salty.

Seeing it on the street and not in an auto show setting made me realize it is more like Mercedes hot hatch...or maybe it just seemed that way because it was parked behind a Honda Pilot.

Here it is at CAS this year:

Kinja'd!!!

I'm kind of obsessed with this car. It has no reason to exist and I am amazed Mercedes put it in to production. It may just be !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! asked for that you can buy new today.

These are the lowest "crossovers" I've ever seen, even in base spec. They're basically a normal hatchback now.

That was the first thing I noticed when I saw it parked next to the curb for reference - it offers absolutely zero additional ground clearance.

Yeah, I am really curious who drives these things. I waited around and had a smoke hoping I could ask the owner what they cross shopped this with, well because....what the hell do you cross shop this with?!?

With that stupid wing they look like they backed into an auto parts store, and all those random parts just stuck to it.

I parked next to a 2 litre diesel one a few weeks back. My Panda had about half an inch more ground clearance.

Smart woman.

That is what I was thinking - you compare it to what, and Audi S3? Even so, very very different sort of vehicle.

I want one of these really bad. I need one. I need a baby AMG in my life. Too bad I'm poor, and a heavily depreciated, not under warranty AMG will make me poorer.

I will never understand how people in the North can buy something as expensive as a car and not have a garage. It would drive me crazy. (I am assuming this car is parked at home).

Nope, spotted in a business district. Even so, check out the salt - our cars get plenty dirty here.
